Hierarchy Diagrams
Setting the root
The root setting determines which element is displayed at the top of the hierarchy diagram.
Right click on, or tap the element you want to set as the root element with two fingers and select “Set as root element” from the context menu. Alternatively: press and hold CTRL/CMD and double click on the element.
If the selected root element is not a root element of the hierarchy, then an icon is displayed above it indicating that it has a parent element. Clicking on the icon will set the parent to be the root element, thereby allowing navigation back up the hierarchy tree.
Click or tap on the cross icon to the right of the “Root ID” badge to clear the root setting.
Setting the depth
The depth setting determines how many layers are displayed below the root element of the structure.
Press the depth button corresponding to the desired depth.
Use the keyboard shortcuts “1”, “2”, or “3” to set the depth to 1, 2, or 3 respectively. Press “0” to reset the depth to ∞ and display the whole model.
